Christmas Images

Well, Charlie's first Christmas was lots of fun. He got a ridiculous amount of toys, more than any one child needs. Sadly, he still prefers to play with spatulas and my earrings more than his actual toys but hopefully this phase will pass soon.

Grandparents

In an effort to keep the site updated with fresh pictures I thought I'd put up some newish pictures of Charlie with his grandparents.

The Daddle

This weekend we had Christmas with my side of the family. Uncle Pete and Aunt Vanessa gave us a family gift that's going to provide hours of entertainment for all of us. It's a saddle for Dad... appropriately named 'The Daddle'. They gave us a horse too that the saddle fits onto for when Dad's knees give out. So far Charlie seems to love it!

Standing? Can it be?

While Matt was playing with Charlie this morning he discovered something...Charlie can stand up when he's got something he can hang onto. At first he was a little sad about it (picture #1) but once he got a little more confidence he realized how fun it was to see the world from 2 feet off the ground (picture #2).

All Dressed Up

Charlie went and saw Santa today. He didn't cry but it did take us a while to get a smile out of him. For the first few minutes Charlie just stared at the big guy wondering why I was making him sit on his lap. Once he realized it was a Christmas tradition and he needed to just go along with it he cracked a smile.

Look Dad, I'm ambidextrous

2 reasons for this quick post. #1 is to show dad, who's at work right now, how well Charlie can hold toys in both hands.
#2 is to show off our new backpack carrier dad bought us for Christmas.

Andrew Dyk

Our friends Matt and Lori Dyk had a little baby boy on Friday the 24th. Little Andrew was born after 23 hours of labor weighing in at 9 pounds 6 ounces. For the record, Charlie didn't weigh 9 pounds until he was 3 months old. Poor Lori.

Welcome to the world Andrew! Can't wait to meet you in person!

Grocery Getter II

Everytime we go anywhere with Charlie there are about 8 million things we have to bring along...strollers, play pens, diapers, etc. Because of this we decided to upgrade the Grocery Getter to something larger, much larger. You'll have to visit my husband's website to see how we arrived at the decision to purchase a van.

I'm sure most of you are shaking your heads and calling us total dorks for buying a van and being happy about it but that's the beauty of where we are in our lives. We don't care. Image smimage. That's what we say. Plus, we didn't just buy a van. It's more like a total luxury mobile on wheels. Leather seats, sun roof, heated seats, sliding doors that open with the push of a button. It's unreal.
